Sobre Aldea del Fresno

Heritage

Highlights the Church of San Pedro Apóstol (1752), of simple architecture, whose 18th-century tower is the only protected element (Grade 2). Next to it are the remains of a waterwheel of possible medieval origin, also protected, located next to the Perales River. Completing the heritage is the Farm of El Santo, an old agricultural complex of the Monastery of El Escorial, where the hermitage of San Saturio, from the 14th century and of regional historical-artistic interest, stands out.

Celebrations

The festive calendar includes San Antón (January 17), Carnivals in February, and the International Women's Week in March. In May, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the procession of Saint Mary of the Ash Tree are celebrated, preceded by the Cultural Week. The patron saint festivities of Saint Peter the Apostle take place on June 29, and the festive year concludes with the Verbena de la Paloma on August 15.

Gastronomy

The cuisine of Aldea del Fresno is based on the rural tradition of Madrid, with local products and homemade recipes. It is possible to find restaurants and bars that offer grilled meats, hearty dishes, and traditional desserts. In addition, the environment is conducive to the development of natural and seasonal products, such as mushrooms, honey, or garden vegetables.
