Puertomingalvo is a beautiful village in the province of Teruel, located 1,450 metres above sea level. Surrounded by nature, it is the ideal place to cool off and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1982 and included among The Most Beautiful Villages of Spain in 2013. Recognised in 2024 as The Most Beautiful Village in Aragon, according to the España Turismo app.

<p><strong>Heritage</strong></p>

  • Castle (12th century): medieval fortress of Muslim origin with strong defensive value.
  • Church of the Purification and Saint Blaise (18th century): neobaroque temple preserving Gothic elements.
  • Town Hall (14th century): outstanding example of Aragonese civil Gothic; now houses the Tourist Office.
  • Portal Alto and Portalico (Muslim period): ancient gates of the medieval wall.
  • West Wall: fortifications reinforced during the Carlist Wars; panoramic viewpoint.
  • Santa María de Gracia Hospice (15th century): former hospital, now a school and social centre.
  • Hermitages of Saint Barnabas and Saint Barbara (15th century): natural surroundings with excellent views.

<p><strong>Festivities</strong></p>

  • Patron Saint Festivities of Saint Barnabas: around 11 June. Pilgrimage, mass, community meal, and traditional activities.
  • Saint Blaise: 3 February. Blessing of food and religious events.
  • Saint Barbara: 4 December. Local tradition with ascent to the hermitage.

  • Teruel D.O. Ham and traditional cold cuts.
  • Seasonal mushrooms: saffron milk caps, oyster mushrooms, etc.
  • Black truffle from Sarrión, world-renowned.
