<p><strong>Heritage</strong></p>

Linares de Mora preserves a valuable historical legacy, declared a Historic-Artistic Site.

Notable landmarks include the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the medieval castle, the city gates to the old quarter, and several hermitages such as Santa Ana, Loreto, and Santa Lucía. The Town Hall, the old hospital, the Loreto bridge, and many traditional houses with eaves and wrought-iron grilles complete the town’s heritage.

Natural Heritage

Located in the heart of the Sierra de Gúdar, within the Maestrazgo–Sierra de Gúdar SCI (Natura 2000 Network), Linares de Mora offers an environment of great natural wealth — pine forests, ravines, pools, and waterfalls.

Highlights include the Linares River, the Escobón Pine, the Cueva Mona, Pozo Navarro, and the waterfalls of Molinete and Arquero, all ideal for hiking and enjoying nature.

<p><strong>Festivities</strong></p>

Linares de Mora celebrates a wide festive calendar throughout the year:

  • San Antonio Abad (January): bonfire, animal blessing, and traditional auction (“Tranza”).
  • Santa Águeda (February): dinner and dance organized by women.
  • Holy Week: processions and festivities of the young “quintos.”
  • Pilgrimages: to Santa Cruz (first Sunday in May) and Virgen de la Vega (second Monday in May).
  • Santa Quiteria (May): procession and sharing of traditional “molletes.”
  • San Pedro and Quintos (June): raising of the pine and youth celebrations.
  • Peña Taurina (June–July): bull and cow exhibitions.
  • Patron Saint Festivities (July 24–29): honoring Saint James, Saint Anne, and Saint Christopher, with processions, dances, meals, and bull events.
  • Castelvispal Festivities (August): dance, dinners, and bull acts.
  • Santa Anica (August): traditional bull events and end-of-summer dances.

<p><strong>Gastronomy</strong></p>

Linares de Mora stands out for its traditional mountain cuisine and high-quality local products.

Notable specialties include the black truffle of Teruel, with its intense aroma and international prestige, and Teruel D.O. ham, cured in the mountain climate.

The area is also rich in mushrooms such as saffron milk caps and field mushrooms.

Typical dishes include migas de pastor (shepherd’s breadcrumbs) and testamentos — sweet pastries made from bread dough, olive oil, and sugar.
