Ancín

The heritage of Ancín combines religious architecture, railway elements, and features related to the river, highlighting the Church of San Fausto, a Gothic-Renaissance temple from the 16th century with valuable Romanesque carvings and a medieval baptismal font, the Hermitage of San Román, in a modern style and linked to the arrival of the railway, and the old Railway Station, now the town hall, alongside the Water Tower and the electrical substation, witnesses of the industrial development of the 20th century, along with a bridge from 1870 over the river and the mill with a heraldic shield from the 18th century, completing a diverse and representative heritage set of local history.

The festivities of Ancín are concentrated in the Grand Festivals at the end of July, the Small Festivals of San Fausto in October, and the celebrations of San Andrés in November, along with spring pilgrimages, popular traditions such as Carnival and New Year's Eve, and unique events like Valley Day and Carbonera Day, which reflect the strong cultural and community roots of the municipality.

The cuisine of Ancín responds to the rural Navarre tradition, with spoon dishes and products from the garden and the surroundings, where meats, legumes, seasonal vegetables, and simple homemade recipes stand out, accompanied by traditional pastries and local wine.
